The Senior Operation Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day efficient operation of
the warehouse and transportation, with emphasis on the management of personnel and
the implementation of warehouse action plans. The Senior Operation Supervisor works
with the warehouse team to maintain warehouse performance goals and objectives in
regards to customer service, cost, productivity and profit.
This position supervises Operations Supervisors, Warehouse Associates, Janitorial and
Maintenance, truck drivers within the operation. This position will also have full knowledge of the
Dispatcher's position and be able to fill in for the Dispatcher if required. The incumbent is
responsible for performing supervisory activities in accordance with the organization's personnel
policies, priorities, procedures and applicable laws. The responsibilities include training employees;
planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining
employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems. The position reports to the Operations
Manager.
In this role, Sr.Operations Supervisors will be bonus eligible based on their performance and location performance. Sr. Operations Supervisor could earn up to 12% of their base for Max Performance.
Shift:
Monday-Friday
7:30 am - Until end of production (Leaders are required to arrive 30 minutes before shift begins)
Over time may be required on off days (Fri/Sat/Sun) and the leadership team members need to report 30 minutes prior to the start of shift.
Major Responsibilities:
Develop and maintains operational plans to include all business requirements whichinclude performance quality, operational costs, KPI reporting, and meeting financialobjectives.
Coordinate activities of all functions of the organization and suppliers to obtainoptimum productivity and utilization of human resources, IT, facilities and equipment.
Oversees administrative activities associated with the effective management of thecompany, including compiling, storing, and retrieving data for reports.
Maintain facilities in a "tour ready" condition at all times and adheres to food andpharmaceutical storage standards
Establish productivity and quality control standards, develops budget and costcontrols, and obtains data regarding both internal and external business metrics.
Responsible for financial analysis of the operational expenses and manage accountsreceivable to maintain invoice aging standards
Develop thorough knowledge of company's WMS to utilize its full functionality. Mustbe able to use management and performance functionality of WMS to drive accuracyand efficiency.
Provide guidance and development of client Policies and Procedures, includingpersonnel requirements, material needs, quality standards, facility and equipmentneeds.
Direct the resolution of operational and customer service problems to assuremaximum customer satisfaction.
Maintain the company's quality standards within the Warehouse and TransportationOperations to ensure accuracy of all work performed, the timeliness of actions,courteous interaction and over all quality of performance. Integrates the Company'squality standards throughout the company environment.
Manage company trucking operations, including, scheduling and dispatch of loads,driver regulatory compliance, equipment procurement and maintenance, invoicing,and KPI management.
Determine organization and responsibilities of company staff to accomplish businessobjectives.
Directly or through subordinates: interview, hire, and train employees; plans, assigns,and directs work; appraise performance; rewards and disciplines employees;addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Train and ensure all employees are aware of and comply with company, government,and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.
Work closely with senior management on all Human Resources issues
Support sales efforts to procure new accounts and maintain current one
Safely perform duties, assuring adherence to applicable safety practices, policies andsafe work behavior. Safeguards the security of the warehouse. Maintains a clean,neat and orderly work area. Successfully completes safety training related toassigned positions for all personnel. Notifies appropriate personnel when a jobhazard or an unsafe work practice emerges during work ensuring compliance withOSHA and HAZMAT regulations.

Qualifications:
Minimum 3 - 5 years in all aspects of warehouse management, and principles4 Year College degrees preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Bachelors Degree preferred
Strong written/oral communication and organizational skills are required
Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
Knowledge of warehouse operations
Expertise in the operation of warehouse material handling equipment
Knowledge of computer software, such as; Company's WMS, MS Word and Excel
Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
Ability to communicate with co-workers, and business contacts in a courteous andprofessional manner
