Position Summary
The Menu Management Specialist will have primary responsibility for the Dining Services menu management system. This position will be responsible for ensuring that all menus, recipes, ingredients, products and order guides are correct and providing correct information to the culinary team as well as the campus community. The Menu Management Specialist will collaborate closely with the System Analyst, Procurement Specialist, Director of Nutrition & Dietary Wellness, Registered Dietitians, and the campus culinary team to ensure the menu management system is maintained and serving all groups as needed.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the menu management system including all data, users and training. Oversee all data in the system to ensure accuracy and take necessary actions when information needs corrections.
Supervise and manage the Research and Development RD Chef for the testing of new products, recipes, and menu items.
Collaborate with nutrition, culinary & unit management teams for reporting needs, menu and recipe review.  Â
Collaborate with System Analyst to ensure system is updated and being used to its full effect. Â Â
Collaborate with Food Production Manager, Menu Management Coordinator and campus chefs to ensure purchasing needs, orders and products are available and ordered as needed.
Actively contribute to the team by performing other duties as needed in support of the departmentâ™s mission and goals.
Preferred Qualifications
Masterâ™s Degree in science, nutrition or related field.
Credentialed Registered Dietitian (RD) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) Experience working in education.
Experience with nutrition, allergens, and recipes.
Previous experience purchasing in a foodservice environment.
Experience issuing RFPâ™s for a wide variety of products.
Experience working in a University Foodservice environment.
Experience utilizing enterprise level food management and POS systems.
Experience in using foodservice technology including mobile ordering platforms.
Previous experience with a variety of concept types including c-store and coffee shops.
Ability to work independently, be highly motivated and work with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage multiple priority projects and workflows.
Experienced in public speaking, with strong communication skills.
Exhibit superior organizational skills.
Work collaboratively in a team setting, strong sense of teamwork.
Excellent written, verbal, and customer service skills.
Ability to work with a diverse population of faculty, staff, students, parents, and guests.
Ability to effectively communicate and lead discussions with department staff, campus partners, and customers.
Proficient in software/program skills- Microsoft office suite, survey tools, social media platforms, and WordPress.
Effective time management and problem solvers.

Required Qualifications
Bachelorâ™s degree.
Three years of experience in culinary or food service, database and food service system management, or other related field or equivalent education and experience.
ServSafe Manager Certification or equivalent, within 90 days of hire.

Salary Range
$47,300.00 - $78,200.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
