Corbion is looking for a Business Analyst Intern who is currently or recently enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program with an interest and aptitude to work in the meat and/or pet food industry.
This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he may have acquired in school and apply them to a professional setting. The work will be directed toward market and technical analysis that leads to actions that move the business forward such as but not limited to application trials, development of case studies, business planning, value proposition development and sales interactions.
Qualified interns will have the opportunity to carry out customer facing initiatives where they will demonstrate what they've learned and use of what they've produced in a business development.
Managing work projects, working both independently and collaboratively with others, to meet project timelines and deliverables
Data gathering, organization, analysis and presentation
Transfer knowledge to colleagues in sales, marketing, product management
Oversee and sometimes conduct application trials: prepare and treat samples, gather data, conduct statistical analysis and write summary reports
Oversee and sometimes conduct market studies: prepare interviews and surveys, gather and analyze data and write summary reports
Update and improve financial projections based on project learnings and changing market needs. Conduct financial analysis and prepare cost estimates.
Presenting project status updates and outcomes to team and key partners.
Integrate data sets from multiple sources and utilize tools to support department initiatives and projects
Represent Corbion at trade and academic events
Participate in Lunch & Learns, and internship training programs
Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by department staff
Skills, Qualifications, and Education Requirements:
Progress towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Meat Science, Grain Science or similar area of study.
Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Familiarity with experimental design, statistical data analysis and interpretation of results
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills, e. g. making presentations and writing technical reports
Ability to think and work independently while collaborating with others in a team-based environment
Demonstrated ability to deliver against agreed deadlines
Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
