Food Law Attorney
Whole Foods Market is seeking to hire an attorney with expertise in the laws and regulations that apply to the products we sell including conventional food, dietary supplements, and cosmetics. Candidates should have strong written and verbal communication skills and enjoy working in a collaborative manner to achieve company goals.
Primary Responsibilities
In this role you will be part of a small team of attorneys that serve as an internal resource to Whole Foods Market team members including members of its Merchandising, Quality Assurance, Quality Standards, and Operations Teams, and other members of the Legal Team, to address federal, state, and local regulatory compliance matters. Responsibilities of this role may include the following:
- Providing advice on regulatory compliance, including product labeling issues, for conventional food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, over-the-counter drugs, pet food, medical devices, homeopathic products, and household products
- Providing advice on product safety issues including GRAS status
- Advising on in-store signage compliance for meat, seafood, produce, prep foods and bakery products
- Responding to regulatory agency requests and enforcement actions
- Providing guidance on pricing issues
- Researching and providing advice with respect to new market trends
Qualifications
Candidates must have the following qualifications: a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school with a minimum of 6 years of practice
