Purpose of Position
Our location in Austin, Texas, currently has an opportunity for a Global Market Data and Analytics Senior Analyst. This position is responsible for serving as a Division authority on global competitors and market dynamics. Global Market Intelligence provides information and insight that supports investment decisions, including product development, clinical programs, marketing programs, product launches and plays a key role in the strategy and financial planning processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains market models for assigned segments. Works with Marketing, Health Care Economics, Finance, Product, Commercial and Geography leaders to ensure that models reflect the anticipated market shifts and to achieve buy-in, while maintaining objectivity, surfacing keen insights and ensuring that models have basis in fact.
- Create and deliver insightful and succinct presentations to colleagues and Division leadership.
- Supports in the collection, interpretation, and dissemination of Competitive Intelligence for assigned segments, in concert with pan Division Competitive Intelligence colleagues. Synthesizes information from multiple sources to generate insights. Supports wargame and scenario planning activities.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of information on Abbott and competitor pipelines and strategies.
- Assists with the creation and management of internal data dashboards.
- Actively communicates model updates, competitive updates, and insights to global business partners on a timely basis.
- Supports development of Strategic and Operating Plans.
- Complies with Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
- Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned. This may include, but is not limited to: Support of Corporate Development activities; Performance and/or support of white space analyses; and Tracking dynamics in the healthcare landscape, purchasing, payment, and policy trends in key markets.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree: Business, Marketing, Finance, and/or Economics major/field of study, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Master's Degree: MBA preferred, but not required.
Experience:
- 5-10 years medical device industry experience preferred
- Possess advanced spreadsheet and data analytic skills.
- Experience with PowerBI preferred.
- Ability to analyze data and surface keen business insights.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
