About the Role:
Responsible for tracking ordered products, providing, and managing materials, and contracted services for the Sacramento California CDC.
Specific duties include receiving and entering data into the inventory management system, GDP; ordering, receiving and distributing materials; responding to questions regarding externally contracted services; communicating with vendors and customer service representatives regarding inventory related issues and discrepancies; comparing goods received to documents; preparing materials for shipment; loading and unloading inventory; managing the marking or tagging of items; preparing bid specifications and requirements; and conducting regular inventory analysis and product cycle counts.
Participates on conference calls with vendors and customers regarding inventory related issues.
Shift and Schedule: Facility Operates 365 days a year
Monday - Friday 9:00am ??? 7:00pm
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Maintains and tracks inventory levels of all products stored in the Sacramento Central Distribution Center
Communicates effectively with supervisors on all inventory related issues and concerns
Provides Warehouse Supervisors and support team with daily receiving log for both the CDC and offsite cold storage locations
Submits and tracks inventory transfers to and from cold storage facility
Receives all vendor POs into GDP inventory tracking system
Monitors and completes Case Detail Log as needed
Monitors and completes Penske Hot Store List log as needed
Manages vendor receiving schedule. Sets delivery appointments for all incoming and outgoing product shipments
Performs full inventory counts as well as cycle counts as needed with a high degree accuracy
Counts 100% of all in-house and products stored at cold storage facility at least once a week
Meets on daily basis or as needed with Inventory Control Clerk and management team, with plans approved by the Operations Manager to review assignments and special requests for the current workday and ongoing progressive planning strategies
Reports and documents products returned to the CDC from previous night???s delivery and dispositions those products back into inventory, if necessary. Documents and tracks all returned products on Product Return Log. Determines why a product was returned and reports that information to the operations team
Participates on daily and weekly performance review calls, daily outage report, weekly performance, and systems improvement calls
Corresponds with other CDC locations regarding inventory and operational issues. Determines best practices and submits recommendations to the CDC operations team
Responsible for reviewing daily credit request from customer. Authorizes and or denies credit request based on review of submitted data and internal inventory tracking tools
Enters credit data into master credit tracking tool
Combines weekly total credit requests for both the Sacramento and San Diego locations and submits to SBUX operations and logistics teams
Monitor bulk pick inventory products for the next day and ensures there will be no shortages
Records all receiving errors into SBUX RIC website
Monitor freezer and cooler conditions to insure they are organized and clean daily
Monitor and ensure products for bulk pick have been ???let down??? in the warehouse for the same day or next day pick. Products include but are not limited to, HVS, Paper, frozen pastries, warming sandwiches and juices
Monitors product damages and makes inventory adjustments as necessary
Ensure proper rotation of the inventory to ensure the FIFO process is being followed and keep track of code dates at both the Sacramento CDC and offsite cold storage facility
Monitors snapshot report to insure product inventory levels balance between the Penske and SBUX inventory systems
Monitor the loading/unloading of product going to or coming from the cold storage facility
Assist in the training of new associates
Team leader for the CDC???s Continuous Improvement Team
Assist with facility AIB preparation
Escalates inventory related issues to appropriate Penske and Customer support staff
Communicates with Inventory Control Clerk to ensure adequate inventory levels are maintained
Assist warehouse associates with inventory related issues
Trains warehouse associates on inventory related best practices
Additional responsibilities might be added depending on the needs of the operations

-High School diploma or GED equivalent required
-Two year degree / certificate in Supply Chain Management preferred
-Previous experience in transportation / third party logistics discipline required
-Exercise great attention to detail
-Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook and Inter / Intranet use
-Strong problem solving and organization skills required
-Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others in a team environment
-Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
