Direct all Wine & Spirits product and process quality and analytical functions from material receipt to finished product distribution, via functional oversight of production site quality assurance staff at the Woodbridge Winery.Â Provide quality leadership and support quality processes at the Lodi Distribution Center. Provide support and direct technical activities and investigations necessary for the resolution of Constellation product non-conformance as well as Constellation product recalls. Advance Constellation quality management systems and standards in compliance with all current regulatory requirements (county, state, federal, international).
Develop and execute Constellation Quality policies and procedures. Facilitate best practices and standardization across all wine and spirits operations locations.
Build strategic working relationships with business partners to improve quality, gain efficiencies, develop staff, and support building a consumer obsessed culture.
Develop and execute an innovative departmental budget that will leverage diverse resources, prioritize, and support real time operation and long-term productivity, quality, and efficiency goals.
Interact with vendors to exploit technology and services to resolve long term equipment, training/process issues (the goal of these efforts will be to implement state of the art Quality testing and analytical instrumentation.
Work with procurement and supplier quality on the qualification of production materials and resolution of issues with non-conforming materials.
Direct finished product root cause and corrective action activities in partnership with the packaging team.
Lead the roll out of Enablon (and related system) Non-conformance module and ensure staff is proficient in use of available tools.
Build quality practices into new production capabilities âparticularly as relates to NPD product implementation and training staff to support ongoing production.
Manage quality holds and communicate business continuity impact (e.g., order execution, backorders, OOS) to supply chain team.Â Partner with supply chain team on business recovery activities.
Evaluate product complaints and develop action plans to address quality trends.Â Coordinate specific complaint corrective actions and recovery activities with the Consumer quality team.
Direct all laboratory activities and technical staff.Â Identify opportunities for LIMS implementation or similar data sharing platforms to quickly action on analytical and micro results.
Lead co-packer qualification activities, as needed.
Partner with packaging to develop a comprehensive sanitation plan and staffing model to address CIP challenges and ways of working.
Establish and maintain procedures and guidelines for ISO, HACCP and GMP implementation.Â Lead required audit activities.
Bachelorâs Degree in a scientific discipline, advanced degree preferable
Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality, Compliance, or a related field
Experience leading high performing teams to include coaching and performance management
HACCP, GMP, ISO experience
Project management experience
Food and/or beverage production experience
Budget management experience
Strong business acumen
Understanding of six sigma concepts
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.Â Ability to articulate complex technical details to non-technical business partners.
Strong data analysis skills
Ability to influence and lead diverse teams
Proficient in use of all Microsoft business applications.
