Department: MED-Center for Food Allergy & Asthma Salary/Grade: EXS/7
Provides expertise in all aspects of data, including management, quality assurance, analysis, reporting, and interpretation. Works extensively with large and complex databases, including data from longitudinal and cross-sectional study designs as well as randomized controlled trials, using statistical software packages such as Stata or SAS. Creates reports of data and communicates results to Principal Investigators.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative research team within a dynamic research environment. This position will support the Center for Food Allergy & Asthma Research (CFAAR), directed by Dr. Ruchi Gupta.
CFAAR is home to a variety of research projects including large scale NIH funded studies focused on early introduction of foods (iREACH) and racial differences in food allergy prevalence (FORWARD). The center is home to a dynamic research portfolio that also includes a strong partnership with a leading global food allergy research and advocacy organization (FARE) and their collaboration connecting food allergy stakeholders and researchers around the world (Data Commons). Finally, the center is also involved in exciting pilot projects and initiatives that include work with Chicago Public Schools, Lurie Children’s Hospital, and numerous Northwestern researchers and Chicago area community organizations. This position will have the opportunity to collaborate on any number of these initiatives as experience and interest allows.
Designs and prepares documentation for qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
Discuss findings with senior management
Interprets results using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to more complex statistical analysis.
Manages complex databases.
Completes data cleaning and organizes data files for analysis.
Reviews data and identifies quality issues.
Presents findings in an appropriate manner.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
2 years data analysis/report writing, or similar experience required.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook)

Stata or R
ArcGIS or other mapping software
Collaboration and teamwork
Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)
2 years Stata/R programming/coding experience, applied experience in multivariable statistical modeling, 1 year applied experience in ArcGIS or other mapping software
Master’s Degree in Biostatistics, Applied Statistics, Math, Epidemiology, or related field.
