We are seeking a Quality AssuranceManager to oversee food safety programs, compliance and quality assurance. This is a newly created role as a result of growth.
As our Quality AssuranceManager, your job duties will include:
Quality Assurance over Third-Party Processing Plants
Perform yearly quality control (QC) walkthrough on all processing plants and raw material suppliers.
Maintain appropriate and required documentation on processing plants and raw material suppliers.
Evaluation and approval of any and all new processing plants including evaluation of food safety programs.
Management of SunFed Ranch’s Recall Program in coordination with all processing plants and raw material suppliers.
Compliance & Documentation
Primary responsibility for label compliance and label review for both new products and ongoing compliance for ingredient or supplier changes.
Ensure traceability of all labeling claims back to source ranch through affidavit and certification programs.
Maintenance of organic program and audits.
Compile all certificates of analysis (COAs) for all meat manufacturers ensuring they are properly completed and included with customer shipments as required.
Manage customer documentation needs for new customer setup and ongoing compliance.
Manage customer and consumer complaints including investigating any issues with quality, responding to customer questions.
Quality AssuranceManager – Skills, Experience & Personality Fit
Bachelor’s Degree in food science, animal science, agriculture or related field of study
Prior experience working in a quality assurance or quality control role
Ability to travel – estimated travel is up to 25% throughout California, some national travel
Strong worth ethic, commitment to quality and a positive customer service experience
Prior knowledge or experience working with food label compliance (preferred)
Experience working in the protein industry
