As our next Senior Scientist, Meat at Corbion, you will be a member of the Meat Application, Research, Technology and Sciences (ARTS) team, focused on applications, development and implementation of solutions and innovations for the North American meat market. You will serve as the key knowledge carrier of meat science in terms of Preservation, Oxidation and Ingredient Interaction. You will play a strategically important, customer-facing role, using your expertise in applied meat science and years of manufacturing experience to help create and apply innovative solutions that grow the company's meat and poultry business. Responsibilities

• Lead Meat Innovation Platforms to achieve Innovation Strategy targets.
• Represents the Corbion expertise at customers and research associations.
• Works in close collaboration with Microbiologists and Sensory Scientists in the ARTS team. Coordinate the application work in multidisciplinary and cross-functional project teams, either as (technical) project lead, or as application work stream lead. This includes ideation, reviewing and identifying new projects, developing and executing technical plans, collecting and analyzing data, communicating results and project status, generating reports, making presentations, and/or publishing papers and/or patents.
• Lead and assist with the design and execution of challenge studies and shelf-life studies in fresh and cooked processed meat product in BSL-2 microbiology laboratory. Coordinate taste panels for meat products manufactured by external customers as well as internal lab samples in order to evaluate the impact of ingredients on sensory attributes.
• Execute application projects and deliver value propositions to the customers. Manage the meat laboratory, which includes completing the day to day activities necessary to maintain the equipment, lab safety, training material, and placing orders to restock inventory.
• Provides meat technical training leadership to sales, distributors and internal customers.
• Collaborates with customers in (joint) product/application development projects and provides product application support including troubleshooting, problem solving, technical assistance meat application work and predictive modeling.
