We are seeking a Business Manager:
who has an interest/knowledge in public education
enjoys working around highly motivated long tenured colleagues
who can quickly understand the complex range of financial management services and requirements of a charter school
who understands and appreciates a very diverse and inclusive culture focused on being both anti-racist and open to many perspectives
who understands the use and application of technology to support operations (financial and other)
who can supervise budget development, financial planning, payroll, accounting, school transportation, food service and other operating areas that have a financial impact on the school
who can build out systems, creating and improving processes including procurement and facilities maintenance
who will be able to grow in the position to shape the administrative profile of a highly successful school.
who can demonstrate, through past experience, education, referrals and prior training, that they are highly qualified to be appointed to this key position
who can take a lead role in the conduct of relationships with lending institutions, the financial community, vendors and the Department of Education and other government agencies while maintaining fiscal records, providing data and information as well as filing all statutory reports.
Who will report directly to the Executive Director as a key member of her team.
Bachelor’s Degree with sufficient experience (Master’s Degree in Business highly preferred)
At least 3-5+ years of experience as a Business Manager, Business Analyst, Accountant, CFO, Director of Operations, business consultant or related positions that demonstrate financial management exposure and experience, ideally from a school setting.
Be proficient to advance in the Microsoft Office platform (Excel, Powerpoint, Word), understanding of data systems typically found in schools, (proficiency in Powerschool is a plus), proficiency in Quickbooks and other accounting software.
Ability to multitask in a role that is fast paced, ambiguous and demanding while still driving the vision of the school forward.

Banneker has been recognized as a high performing Massachusetts charter school. Our small school community includes: 350 students from families in Cambridge and surrounding cities and towns; a team of dedicated and long tenured educators that have consistently delivered student outcomes well above the state average. Our small school community predominantly serves families of color from many nations and circumstances.
