University of the Sciences (USciences) has an immediate need for a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Budget Analyst. The Senior Budget Analyst reports to the Budget Director and performs highly advanced (senior level) budget preparation and analysis work. The work involves planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating budgetary activities and analyzing and reviewing budget requests. The Senior Budget Analyst works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Judgment and initiate are exercised frequently in verbal and written communications and in interpreting University-wide policies and procedures.

Oversees the planning, organizing, coordinating, and evaluating of budgetary activities.
Prepares charts, graphs, and related materials for reports and presentations.
Preparation of financial statements and reports.
Preparation of budgetary and management reports.
Ensures the financial integrity of all budgets by monitoring balances and expenditures.
Maintain position control spreadsheet necessary for accurate control and accountability of all position budget areas.
Converts approved budget into departmental format and prepares it for entry into the financial system.
Analyzes budget requests and transfers and decision requests from departments to ensure budget guidelines are followed.
Confers with department heads, budget managers, directors, and assistant provost for administration with respect to budgetary controls and procedures.
Monitors revenue and expense accounts to identify problem accounts.
Researches, compiles, and updates budgetary and forecast data for various financial reports.
Schedules and arranges for meetings, including but not limited to on-boarding new budget officers and updates to existing budget officers.
Performs related work as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Knowledge of accounting, budgetary, and management principles, practice, and procedures.
Skill in implementing university budget procedures and maintaining position database.
Skill in preparing budgets and forecasting.
Ability to effectively communicate.
Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, especially with regards to sensitive or confidential personnel or organizational matters.
Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work cooperatively with persons at all levels calmly under pressure.
Excellent computer skills and experience using spreadsheets, charting, and other software tools, such as Microsoft Office, Workday, Datatel/Colleague, Informer, Synotix.
Excellent writing skills sufficient to draft professional reports and correspondence that is clear and concise.
Strong organizational skills to work independently and to prioritize heavy workload under the pressure of competing assignments.
The finalist will be required to successfully pass a background check.
