Completes month end revenue cycle close processes, including all life plan community revenue journal entries from EMR/Billing system, accounts receivable summary analytics and reconciliation of the sub-ledger to the general ledger, analysis of bad debt expense, and analysis of room and board revenues and ancillaries. Completes entrance fee cash-flow analysis. Assists with the Rydal Waters project and projection model analysis. Completes other month end analytical reporting as needed. Completes of the Philadelphia Presbytery Home 5-year projection model compilation. Also, is an integral part of the budget process and year-end audits. This accountant will have direct interaction with the Assistant Controller, Director of Accounts Receivable, and CFO. Provides exceptional customer service.
The essential duties will include, but not be limited to:
Upload from HealthMedx EMR/Billing system to Great Plans
Monthly accounts receivable analysis
Monthly accounts receivable reconciliation from sub-ledger to general ledger
Monthly bad debt analysis
Monthly census, room and board, and ancillary revenue analysis
Entrance fee monitoring and analysis
Quarterly financial reporting and analysis related to the revenue cycle
Assistance with annual budget process related to the revenue cycle, including resident rates, rate letters and ancillary rate sheets.
Assistance with annual medical deduction letters.
Back-up for uploading annual room and board and ancillaries into HealthMedx EMR/Billing system upon budget approval
Month-end analysis of food services budget to actual results compared to census, aggregate debt service and capital leases.
Works with the Rydal Waters (Rydal Park Cottage Expansion) Team including bi-weekly meetings, financial analysis, prospective resident financial qualifications, and project financing.
Complete the PPH Financial Models annually and as needed for special projects.
Performs tasks which support the essential functions of the job, but which may be changed based upon circumstances and needs.
Provides support and back-up to other accounting staff.
Serves as a resource to facilities’ staff on their financial statements
Education/Training: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related study. Demonstrated knowledge of nonprofit, CCRC, and Long-term Care accounting practices and standards.
Skill(s): Proficiency in general ledger and other sub-system and budget packages as assigned. Preferable to have knowledge of Great Plains general ledger system and HealthMedx EMR/Billing system, but not required. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel spreadsheet software, with some financial modeling experience. Ability to solve complicated inquiries and issues involving revenue cycle and financial statements. Also must be able to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Must possess the ability to meet stringent deadlines, prioritize work, and operate in a fast paced environment.
Experience: Three - five years senior level experience in related professional accounting or auditing/ assurance work.
