Federated has a unique opportunity for a Quantitative Analyst to join our Equity team at our headquarters. We are looking for a Quant Analyst who is passionate about numbers, intellectually curious and is self-directed. This unique opportunity will entail, among other responsibilities, working collaboratively with the portfolio managers and analysts to enhance portfolio performance in terms of risk and return.

Master degree in finance, statistics or equivalent experience required; Ph.D. in relevant field and/or CFA preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience, or equivalent, with the statistical evaluation of portfolio risks and returns required; demonstrated ability analyzing equity portfolio risks and the statistical properties of the portfolio returns a plus
Must have experience with statistical/programming software packages and databases; demonstrated programming ability with Matlab, Python and/or R required; proficiency in FactSet and risk software desired.
In-depth knowledge of Modern Portfolio Theory (MPT)
Familiarity with academic financial literature and its practical applications
Develop, present and implement security selection models used by portfolio managers to rank and select potential investments.
Analyze portfolio risk characteristics and economic exposures to identify opportunities to improve performance profile.
Assist portfolio management teams with competitive positioning.
Conduct short-term analysis and long-term projects.
Document and present research results to quantitative team and portfolio managers.
Develop databases and reports to monitor and identify equity portfolio risks and opportunities.
Monitor and keep up-to-date on academic and practitioner financial literature to identify new investment ideas and strategies.
Perform miscellaneous quantitative analyses and create and maintain models, tools, and reports, as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
