This Regional Sales Manager career position is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate brings specific experience building a brand and private label in the In-Store Bakery category and has experience selling across Conventional, Natural and Club channels. Experience in Convenience and/or Foodservice is beneficial.
Sell Regionally to a wide range of customers, from conventional retail grocery chains, including distributors and wholesales servicing these accounts, along with club, convenience and foodservice channels.
Bring in large accounts and manage sales cycles with high-level buyers; research and prioritize key prospects based on sales goals
Build and manage relationships with new and existing retail buyers, distributors and broker partners
Respond to new sales inquiries and leads in a timely manner
Set and execute promotional strategy in partnership with sales brokers
Analyze and allocate Trade Spend in the most efficient manner possible
Manage and execute merchandising activities in the field, such as shippers, display racks, demo’s, etc.
Represent the brand and lead activities at industry tradeshows, such as the IDDBA, Natural Products Expo and Distributor tradeshows
Significant travel, up to 60% travel during peak periods
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
10+ years’ experience calling on buyers and leading sales activities with a food company, direct Bakery selling experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to bring in new accounts and customers
Self-starter who is ambitious, and can work independently
Solid understanding of the food ecosystem, including the role of manufacturers, distributors and brokers
Proficient with Microsoft Power Point, Excel and Word
Superior communication skills - both oral and written
Ability to travel, owns a car and a valid driver’s license
4-year college degree
Location: Home office – within easy reach of major airport in the East, Central or West US regions
