Continuous Improvement/Technology Coordinator (1901677) - Ames, IA
Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a professional like you to drive and establish a continuous improvement culture, as well as discovery and implementation of new technology into the APN Biological Site in Ames, IA . You will be the site's point person for, but not limited to, Operational Excellence (Opex), new product launches, Lean Manufacturing, 6-Sigma projects, and Root Cause Analysis. You will also be the site representation with R&D and Regulatory to support site needs. Keys to success in this role will require that you are entrepreneurial, results-oriented, and able to build strong working relationships from the production floor to the Site Leadership Team (SLT). You will be able to provide operational knowledge and lead site activities, such as 6-Sigma projects, Root cause analysis, and management of change while ensuring safety, environmental soundness, and cost efficacy.

Additionally, you will establish and support a safety culture in which all accidents are preventable.
Focused on maintaining compliance, you will protect the environment by maintaining and increasing environmental awareness and ensuring compliance with all corporate standards and State and Federal regulations.
Demonstrating your working knowledge of GMP and lab practices along with your experience in quality assurance processes and procedures, you will foster an attitude of quality improvement by routinely monitoring operations and assays to ensure that all production meets U.S., Canadian, and International regulatory requirements.
Your working knowledge of mechanical equipment utilized in the chemical, food and biological process industry will be essential as you support the site with root cause analysis and action resolution, while helping to coordinate efforts between the site, R&D, and Regulatory.
Leveraging your Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering or related discipline and your experience in operations (specifically in Chemical, Food or Biological processing), you will support the site initiatives with OpenX, R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, Regulatory (introduce new methods, technology, and modified formulations) for distribution into the market.
Utilizing your working knowledge of statistical analysis (design of experiments), process improvement, and process design & optimization, you will participate with scheduling, planning, prioritization, and development of projects to maintain the operation and appearance of areas of responsibility and to improve operations.
Your strong technical background will be a valued asset as you introduce new technology to support continuous improvement in safety, quality, manufacturing, and cost.
Your continuous improvement certification and experience with continuous improvement projects with measurable results will serve you well as you lead and support continuous improvement efforts and Operational Excellence initiative at the site.
