Our perfect candidate will thrive in a fun and casual environment, pay it forward daily, and add value to the company by leading initiatives focused on our proprietary protein products including improvements to existing products and processes, developing and commercializing new products, and audit and evaluation to ensure all products are produced to HBH specifications.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop expertise and knowledge of proprietary HBH protein specifications and how these are executed at each vendor-partner. Develop test protocols and create samples/prototypes of new products through vendors, modify existing products, optimize existing products, develop specifications for products and compile cost analysis information.
Leverage knowledge related to ingredients, product formulation and food processing to support best in class development of new, innovative, food products.
Work with and influence marketing, insights, FSQA, operations and supply chain departments coordinating with suppliers of ingredients, ensuring smooth start up for new product production processes.
Implement innovation and growth opportunities in line with marketing strategies, drive margin enhancement opportunities, update and maintain relevant capability information in line with the business plan.
Ensure that the costing for products are supported by accurate information before and after the establishment of the price. Participation in the development of business and capacity plans and strategy development as required to support commitments required for supply chain needs.
Manage and implement special projects as assigned by VP of QA & Technical Services
Continually enhance knowledge of protein processing science and industry trends

WHAT WE THINK YOU'LL NEED
Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field and at least 3 years of experience in FS/QA or product development/commercialization specific to proteins. Experience working with pork is a strong plus. USDA experience preferred and HACCP certification strongly preferred.
Ability to identify and articulate product quality issues and to establish quality assurance procedures and produce documented instructions and procedures. Must be comfortable to work in various environments such as labs, pilot plants and plants. Strong problem solving skills.
Knowledge of costing systems, data analysis, experimental design, technical writing and effective vocal communication skills are required. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively with those inside and outside the organization and at all organizational levels. Highly motivated individual with a strong background in scientific methods and project management skills are required.
