As a member of the Site Development team, you will work closely with various internal customers such as Real Estate Representatives, Management, and Wakefern Divisions whose objectives closely align with the team’s goals and projects. In this position, you would be engaging with multiple external customers including ShopRite Owners, the Site Development Committee and outside Research Consultants. This role requires a strong strategic mindset with critical thinking and in depth analytical skills. Additional responsibilities include:
New store / remodel and replacement analyses as requested by the ShopRite organizations and Wakefern Management
Competitive and sister store impact analyses
New owner / store acquisition proposals as requested by Wakefern Management
Metro / county area of opportunity studies upon request
ShopRite owner strategies / store development plans
Participates in the training of Site Analysts
Geographic and travel scope of responsibilities includes the entire Wakefern trade area
Maintains the highest degree of technical competence in the field of site location analysis and strategic planning. Has a strong familiarity with the various applications of current, state-of-the-art location research principles and techniques
Conducts site location research including new store / remodel and replacement analyses, impact analyses, new member / acquisition proposals, metro/county and member strategies to provide actionable information to Wakefern and its individual Store Owners in the execution of an on-going store development plan.
Communicates with Wakefern members and real estate representatives for site specifications, the collection of population and demographic data from local planning agencies, the U. S. Census Bureau and fieldwork to determine trade area delineations, determination of adequate access for a potential location, competitive evaluations and subsequent sales volume projections.
Assembles and manages such demographic / socio-economic data as population, incomes, employment, household growth, etc. for the department's internal data bases in order to provide accurate and timely market information to client base
Coordinates with teammates and consultants to assemble and manage GIS location data to produce maps and presentations
Assists Manager in establishing and executing the department objectives while learning various aspects of the functions to lead the team in the absence of the manager
Ability to travel up to 70% of the time
Conducts competitive field analyses with the ability to engage with store associates
College degree required. Concentration in Real Estate or Commercial Real Estate strongly desired
A minimum of 7 to 10 years of site location research experience
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to lead important meetings and establish actionable expected outcomes. Comprehends and conveys information clearly and effectively
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to decipher data, formulate conclusions and make sound decisions
Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong problems solving skills are required
Proficient technology skills to include: MS Office, Word, Excel, and Power Point with ability to be trained in various customized Real Estate programs
Conveys strong business acumen, uses sound judgement and decision making skills to manage job responsibilities
Working Conditions & Physical Demands

Ability to drive long distances and sit in a car for extensive periods of time
Ability to work a hybrid schedule as established by the division
